After essaying the role of Maharani Jodhaa, Aishwarya Rai will be seen in yet another role of a queen – the beautiful yet powerful Mumtaz Mahal in whose memory King Shah Jahan made the eternal symbol of love – Taj Mahal. This project will be Hollywood actor Sir Ben Kingsley’s home production where he will play Emperor Shah Jahan and Aishwarya Rai will play his lady love. This film will be made on a whooping budget of $25 to $30 million. British novelist and playwright David Ashton will be scripting the story for this film and Kingsley confirms the news. “With my passion for India, and the Taj Mahal one of the Seven Wonders of the World, I am compelled to ask ‘why’ and ‘how’ this scream of grief frozen in marble came into being,” said Sir Ben when asked about the reason of this initiative.
When Ranbir Kapoor was planning to make a entry into the world of Bollywood, his idol was not his grandfather or any other Kapoor, it was Hrithik Roshan. When Ranbir saw Kaho Na Pyaar Hai as a young lad, he came across a fan who saw Hrithik and said, “Yeh to heera hai, heera”. since then Ranbir wanted to be like Hrithik, and when he made his debut with Saawariya he wanted his staff to call him Heera. To encourage Ranbir, his spot boy, Inder after every shot Ranbir gave, he said, “Yeh to Heera hai, Heera” Well after hits like Wake up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, we will also say – Yeh to Heera hai, Heera!
De Dana Dan almost marks a decade of the end of the sensitivity and sensibility of director Priyadarshan who switched on to commercially driven comedy capers post the success of Hera Pheri . De Dana Dan also almost marks a decade of the widespread acceptability that the slapstick genre has gained in scarcity of sane comedies. Going by its casting, do not expect De Dana Dan to be a sequel, tribute or extension of the Hera Pheri series. Forget the threesome chemistry, there is hardly a single frame in the film where the trio of Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal share screen space. Except of course for the trademark Priyadarshan style chaotic climax where again their chemistry is diluted (literally through flooding fuss) as the entire cast joins them for more commotion. Nitin Bankar (Akshay Kumar) is a driver under debt and Ram Mishra (Sunil Shetty) is a courier boy who hasn’t delivered much in life. Though both have already assigned girlfriends (Katrina, Sameera) for them, the film still takes too long to come to point. Money is the need of the hour and so Priyadarshan does some hera pheri in the story – which means a kidnap. Just this time the duo kidnaps a canine and you wonder if the film is going to the dogs. As you try to keep a count on the ever-increasing character artists, the entire cast checks-in a five star hotel. Soon the story takes the shape of the 1992 Hollywood flick ‘ Blame it on the Bellboy ’ which was remade in Bollywood just a year ago as ‘ One Two Three ’ (and also starred Sunil Shetty and Sameera Reddy). A comedy of errors ensues with characters doing Bhagam Bhag throughout the hotel. Call it a ‘wardrobe’ disaster but Akshay Kumar is locked in one for practically an hour of the film’s runtime. With a seemingly lost Sunil Shetty and a screeching loud Paresh Rawal, it’s left up to the character artists to save the ship. But a flood is induced in the climax as the director seeks inspiration from another Hollywood flick ‘ The Towering Inferno ’ (1974) with each character going down the drain. As the name suggests, De Dana Dan is a quickie flick which is hastily written, rapidly filmed, has swift storytelling and speeding characters giving you no time to breathe, gasp, feel, absorb react or relate. The film takes time to kick-off and nothing much happens in the first half. The second half gains momentum with cross-connections of characters inside the hotel. The more you attempt to keep a track of the individual tracks, the more it confuses you. The less you try to join the links, the more it binds you.
ARTIST AND OTHER PERFORMANCE:
What could have been the USP of the film, acts against it with the comic chemistry of Akshay-Paresh-Sunil clearly missing. In fact the other character artists add more value to the film varying from the deafening ones (Archana Puran Singh, Manoj Joshi) to the hilarious ones (Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani). Undoubtedly the humour is loud and noisy but this slapstick is appended with some story (Suresh Krishanan). Unfortunately for a comedy, the dialogues are pretty lame with not sufficient punches or one-liners. Pritam’s music is quite outdated this time and every song is forced into the narrative. Salim-Sulaiman’s background score is loud and at several instances overshadows the dialogues. With a major part of the film being shot inside the hotel, the camerawork isn’t much demanding and K Ahambaram does well as the cinematographer. The art direction (Sabu Cyril) and SFX (Red Chillies) effects for the deluge sequence in the climax are well executed though it doesn’t contribute much to the film. For a comedy, De Dana Dan is considerably long at almost 3 hour runtime and could have been more crisply edited. Akshay Kumar repeats himself but is funny at times. Sunil Shetty seems jaded and uninterested. Paresh Rawal hams. Archana Puran Singh is in the Masti mould. Manoj Joshi goes over the top. Johnny Lever gets the best sequences and is clearly the scene-stealer. Rajpal Yadav and Asrani are equally hilarious. Katrina Kaif looks pretty. Sameera Reddy and Aditi Govitrikar can’t act. Neha Dhupia is better amongst the females. Chunky Pandey is non-existent. Vikram Gokhale looks miscast in comedy, which he has probably attempted for the first time.
FINAL VIEW:
De dana dan was not very good convincing one movie. it is an average movie.

Araya - 2 Telugu Movie Review
After long gap director sukumar's arya-2 seems to be not worked like Arya 1. In this film sukumar invented an new formulae for friendship and love but it was not worked for him.
Story and Movie Analysis: well coming in to Arya movie story , Arya is an orphan and Ajay is his friend in an orphanage. A rich couple visit that orphanage and wanted to adapt one of these two guys. Arya and Ajay use a toss to decide their fortunes. Arya wins, but lets Ajay go as he thinks that friendship is all about giving. Ajay grows up as a rich man and Arya grows up as a poor guy. Ajay starts a software company and Arya joins him as an employee. Geeta is the new employee of the company. Both Ajay and Arya fall in love with her. The rest of the story is all about how these two guys try to make Geeta fall for them.
Artists Performance Allu Arjun: Allu Arjun is perfect as Arya. His character in the movie has the qualities of a psychotic and he portrayed the character flawlessly. He shined in emotional scenes in the second half of the movie. Allu Arjun is probably the best dancer of current era in Tollywood. That is the reason why he made hugely difficult dances appear fluid and effortless in the first four songs of the movie. Others: Kajal Agarwal is good as a girl who is not committed to any guy at heart. She rendered the image of a typical confused girl about love. Navadeep is nice as a guy with selfish and practical thinking. He is extremely good with histrionics when he delivers dialogues to Allu Arjun at hospital in the climax scene. Shraddha Das is gorgeous in a brief role. Ajay is excellent as Subba Reddy, mainly due to entertaining characterization. Brahmanandam is partly entertaining. Mukesh Rushi is adequate. An actor with better command on Rayalaseema dialect would have done justice to Sayaji Shinde’s role.
Technical departments Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the movie is about the conflict of love (Geeta) and friendship (Ajay) of a confused guy (Arya) with psychotic tendencies caused due to loneliness in life. Making a movie based on such a characterization is a highly risky proposition and director Sukumar partly succeeds in it. Sukumar is basically an intelligent guy with a flair for parallel thinking. His intelligence and creativity is shown in conceiving certain scenes of the movie like 1. Using a bubble gum to decide who is going to be hero’s best friend (just like throwing stone into empty cup in Arya)2. Hero wearing glasses to see the heroine clearly in his dreaming because heroine appears blurred. (montage shot of 2nd song)3. Love letter episode4. The drinking scene between Arya and Subba Reddy 5. With one dialogue (Aayanaku champentha kopam vunte, naaku chachipoyentha prema vundi), the love angle of entire movie is justified. Sukumar is also extremely good at penning screenplay for some part of the movie. The best example is the way he distributes three characters in a stand-off of second half (like puli, meka, gaddi story we listen when we were kids).
However, there is a major glitch in Arya 2 compared to Arya movie. In Arya movie, hero is shown as a guy with mischief and he sincerely fights for a girl because he loves her. When he wants to chase a girl with sincerity, audience would love it and follow the hero character with empathy. Hence there is emotional involvement for hero’s character from audiences. In Arya 2, hero would be sincerely chasing the girl to take her and give it to his friend. Hence, there in less involvement from audiences point of view. So, there will not be sympathy for hero when he loses girl and there will not be feeling of triumph (from audiences involvement angle) when hero finally gets the girl. Another major obstacle in the movie is the factor of confusion. The character of hero vacillates between the feelings of selfishness and sacrifice throughout the movie. The director cleared the confusion only towards the climax.
Other departments:
Songs of Arya 2 are excellent to listen and I was a bit hesitant about director doing justice to the songs on the screen. Sukumar comes up with a fabulous job of canning all the songs with energy and verve. Background music is also good. Cinematography by Rajasekhar is of top class. Credit for lush visuals should also be given to EFX & Prime Focus (DI) and Pixelloid (VFX). Dialogues are well written. Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is good. Production standards by Aditya Arts banner (Aditya Babu and Bhogavally Prasad) are of top-notch.
Analysis:
First half is is not gripping due to lack of conflict point. Around 45 minutes of the movie in first half where Arya tries to make Geeta fall for him appears redundant. Second half is better than the first half. The last 15 minutes is clear as the director reveals the real character of Arya, thus relieving us of confusion. The plus points of the movie are creative scenes, Allu Arjun, songs (dances) and technical values. On the flipside, psychotic orientation and confusion in hero’s characterization doesn’t get audiences involved in the movie intently. The runtime of the movie is also high. On a whole, Arya 2 is a different film that can appeal to A centers and class crowds.
Final View:
Arya -2 is disappointment in every other way. Director Sukumar fails both as writer and director as his plotline is confusing and his hero’s characterization is negative. The film’s hero, Allu Arjun, acts like a psycho and his obsessive love and admiration towards heroine Kajal and his friend Navadeep evoke many suspicions. Although it starts off well, second half, especially towards the climax, is contrived.
Those who thought the leggy lass Deepika Padukone is out of sight nowadays or she is avoiding media after her split with Ranbeer Kapoor are wrong. Because the reason behind her vanishing act is the new look she has got for Kartik Calling Kartik, which she didn’t want to reveal. Deepika has chopped her waist length hair to the shoulders for the film. In KWC, she co-stars with Farhan Akhtar. She is playing role of an interior designer in the film and the script demands her to be in a particular look. Deepika was first hesitant to do so, but director Vijay Lalwani and Audhuna, the celebrity hairstylist and Farhan’s wife convinced her to go for it. “They thought with my height, I would be able to carry it off well,” said Deepika. “I last chopped my hair when I was eight,” she added. Before the hair cut Deepika put a condition to the director that she will chop her hair only if he will shave his head bald. “He didn’t do that, but he saw to it that he was present in the salon so that I don’t back offat the last moment,” said the actress with a smile. Meanwhile people including her parents, who have seen her in new avatar, have liked it. “Everybody says it looks good on me and makes me look younger,” she said. Talking about her role in the film, she said, “The scriptwriter had a certain image in mind when he wrote my character Shonali. So I had to do justice to the role.” She is happy with the new haircut and thinks that ‘Change is good’.
Everyone knows that Aamir Khan is perfectionist and no one dare to mess with him when it comes to work. However, Pratik Babbar who is just one film old and also the son of Raj Babbar and Smita Patil dare to do this recently on the sets of Dhobi Ghat. He made the film unit wait endlessly on the sets of the film. Not only that but he didn’t even inform anybody about his absence for the day. Eventually, the days shooting was called off and Aamir had to go back home. Dhobi Ghat is Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut. Revealing about the incident, a unit member said, “Frantic efforts to trace Pratik were made, but of no avail. Officials from Aamir Khan Productions made repeated calls to Pratik’s mobile, but nobody could trace him that day.” After some time, the film unit got to know that the actor is in Goa. Moreover, the film’s shooting was cancelled for next two days due to his absence. “It was very strange of Pratik to go to Goa. He is often spaced-out,” added the source. However on his return, Aamir gave him a piece of words. He said, “Aise kaam nahin chalega. Please try and understand.” Then onwards Pratik has not dared to skip informally.
Amrita Rao has a tight schedule for a month ahead. She will meet and greet Sir Ben Kingsley at IFFI event in Goa and will also walk red carpet along with co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh for promotion of Amol Palekar’s venture And Once Again. Amu will also walk ramp as a showstopper for a fashion show to be happen at the event.
According to source, Minissha Lamba was first offered the role Dia Mirza played in Kurbaan. But, she opts out because it demanded her to lip lock with co-star Vivek Oberoi. This is strange with the bold actress who recently had created heat with her bikini act. However, Dia didn’t have any problem romancing Vivek, with whom she worked previously in Dum. Meanwhile, Minissha is coming up with a role, sporting gun. Guess what? Some people prefer guns over roses.
The Hera Pheri team- director Priyadarshan, stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty - is the dream team in Bollywood, who is once again ready to create the same laugh riot with De Dana Dan. However the bonus this time is the magical romantic pairing of Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar. The film is about to release on November 27 and promises to roll off audience from their seats.
Ratan Jain, producer of the film, said, “For most of the filmmakers of Bollywood, this is a dream team. The Hera Pheri combo is back to entertain after a gap of nine years. Of course, as a bonus, there is the hit jodi of Akshay and Katrina who have a magical romantic track inthe film.”
Jain is happy with his productions house’s long association with Priyadarshan having produced films- Hungama, Hulchul, Garam Masala earlier. De Dana Dan’s cast includes 26 top comic actors from the industry. However, Katrina who recently played a comic role in Ajab Prem Ki Ghajb Kahani is excited about this film too.
Kareena Kapoor joins the initiative started by Radio Mirchi about remembering and saluting the heroes of 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The actress was recently on Radio Mirchi̢۪s program Sunset Samosa along with RJ Suren and talked about the initiative as well as her upcoming film Kurbaan. The stunning actress who visited the radio station after six years asked people to name those people who helped them during the 26/11 crisis. Meanwhile, Radio Mirchi has arranged special screening of Kurbaan to those nominees, where lead stars of the film Kareena and Saif Ali Kahan will also be present.
Kurbaan, a production by Karan Johar and direction by first time director Rensil D’Silva also talks about terrorism. Talking about her role inthe film, Kareena said, “I think this is one of my best roles after Jab We Met, so I am very excited about it. Karan came up with ‘Some love stories have blood on them’ because the film is very intense; blood here refers to the pain.”
The memories of the attack are horrifying, but it also reminds us the bravery and humanity of our commandos, Mumbai police and firemen. It showed us that humanity still wins. So to honour those heroes, Radio Mirchi comes forward with the unique idea.
Meanwhile Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan starrer Kurbaan is set to release on November 20. The film also stars Dia Mirza, Vivek Oberoi, Om Puri and Kirron Kher. Music by Salim-Suleiman is already making buzz, particularly the Shukran Allah is climbing on the music charts. However ‘Rasiya’ is the favourite of the music director. “Rasiya, as it is has dark undertones and really sets the mood for the images it accompanies inthe film.” Well which is Kareena’s favourite? “The lyrics of all the songs are beautiful. Ali Maula is a very gripping song; the film comes to life in this song,” says Bebo.
Lara Dutta, Mahesh Bhupathi and Shweta Jaishankar-Bhupathi
Talks of Lara Dutta-Dino Morea break up also accompanied talks of Lara’s and tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi’s ‘good friends’ relationship. Though Lara has declared that she was single, during the promotion of her recent film Blue, gossip mongers in B-town still continues to talk about their more than good friend relationship. And someone heard recently that ‘good friends’ are going to get hitched at a hair-dressing salon, whose owner is Lara’s friend.
Meanwhile, Mahesh’ wife Shvetha Jaishankar-Bhupati who was also a ex-tennis champion, former Femina Miss India International 98 and a runner-up at the Miss International pageant in Tokyo has filed for divorce in October. Issuing the statement, she said, “Mahesh and I have shared a life together and as we part ways, I wish him all best for his future.”
Still then Lara and Mahesh refuse the relationship between them. Meanwhile, Shvetha doesn’t have any problem or comments on it. Why should she have? When she happily parted ways with the tennis player?
Katrina who is the demand of the industry now days, knows how to handle link-ups and rumours. Seem like Katrina learnt about how to deal with then within a short career span. She has been linked up with many actors and the latest one was to Ranbir Kapoor from Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab Kahani. Recently when asked to the actress about it, she said, “It’s just getting too much. You are linked to every actor you are working with. That happens for every movie these days and one just has to stop reacting to it.” Katz has her own fundas at work. And guess what? This might be the reason that the actress is one of the top actresses in Bollywood today.

2012 End of world Movie Review: The movie 2012 is the much awaited movie this year. The film revolves around the idea of Mayam Calender which predicts end of world around December 21, 2012. The story revolves around John Cusack who plays Jackson Curtis in the movie. Jackson Curtis is a divorce father, who works as a driver and occasional writer. The action thriller 2012 movie is the must watch flick this weekend. The use of animations are excellent. The direction and storyline are superb. Roland Emmerich successfully transformed the idea of doomsday event on celluloid.
2012 movie story and Analysis : Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) is a divorced father who occasionally works as a limousine driver and a writer, while his ex-wife Kate Curtis (Amanda Peet) and children live together with her new boyfriend. In Guatemala reports start coming in of mass suicides in the Mayan jungles of people attempting to avoid the impending apocalypse. The IHC (Institute for Human Continuity), a secret organization, has realized the situation and begins constructing vast arks beneath the Himalayan mountains designed to withstand most natural disasters in order to save both humanity, significant species, and the greatest treasures of mankind for when doomsday finally happens. There are arguments however about how and when the governments of the world will alert their fellow citizens and even discussions about how the remaining survivors will be selected to survive Armageddon. When they discover that the global cataclysm is happening much faster than expected, they must race to these ships to save the human race before all is lost. Meanwhile on a day trip to Yellowstone with his two young children, Jackson meets Charlie Frost, who hosts his own radio segment and blog about his belief that the Mayans are correct about 2012. Over the coming days vast cracks are found within the fault lines in California, and despite the pleas from the government that everything is fine, Jackson isn't convinced. Hiring a private plane and gathering crucial supplies he races to his ex-wife's L.A. home to save himself and his family from the Earth's crust displacement occurring all around them. After a long and dangerous race through the collapsing streets of LA to get to Santa Monica Airport, Kate's new boyfriend Gordon uses his pilot skills to get the family to safety as the runway crumbles beneath them. After they take off, they fly dangerously through Los Angeles as the entire city crumbles into oblivion around them. As they look back the entire cityscape of Los Angeles has already started to crumble into the Pacific. It soon becomes clear that it's not just Los Angeles that's experiencing disaster, the Yellowstone Supervolcano erupts, Las Vegas is destroyed by a massive chasm that cuts through the city and an ash cloud from the Yellowstone eruption, more massive earthquakes occur in South America (one of which destroys the city of Rio de Janeiro). Washington, D.C. is flooded by an enormous tsunami which crushes the White House, and The Vatican in Rome crumbles into oblivion, destroying thousand-year old Catholic architecture and killing thousands of worshipers within seconds. As massive tidal waves began to sweep across the Earth (even at one point beginning to climb over the Himalayas), the U.S. government declares the end of the world. A group of survivors, including Jackson Curtis and his family must fight their way to China before they can board the great arks and save themselves from the gigantic tidal waves flooding the Earth.

Shilpa Shetty’s wedding preparations have kicked off by a private engagement party but Sangeet, she assures would be a lavish affair at Khandala.
She has zeroed in on friend-choreographer Ganesh Hegde for choreographing everyone’s dance movies for a perfect sangeet on November 21 which is just a day before her wedding.
Ganesh Hegde confirmed the news saying, “The sangeet is not a professional thing for me. I am related to Shilpa. We are keeping this as personal as possible and haven’t involved any professional dancers. We’re planning something cute where all the family members pay tribute to each other. Raj’s younger brother is extremely enthusiastic about it. Raj’s family members will be coming down from London.”
Commenting on the sangeet’s theme, Ganesh adds, “There’s no singular theme, but yes, we will explore and celebrate that Shilpa, who is from a South Indian (Bunt) family, is marrying Raj, who is a Punjabi. We’ll have a good mix of South Indian and Punjabi style dance and music.”
About Shilpa and Raj’s special number, Ganesh says, “They will be dancing together on a lovely romantic number. We haven’t finalised the song yet but it will definitely be one of Shilpa’s own numbers. Apart from Shilpa’s own songs, there will be some high-tempo numbers too. The guests won’t dress in special costumes for their performances as they will anyway be dressed in their finery.”
Is there a special bit about the ceremony that will be a surprise for the couple, we ask Ganesh. “Not really,” he says. “We all will be rehearsing together so planning a surprise will be difficult… Shilpa is aware and very much part of everything we have planned. We will start the rehearsals very soon.
We hope media gets too see the action in full monty!
