BIOGRAPHY :Meera Jasmine ( Jasmine Mary Joseph) was born on 15 February 1984 in Kuttappuzha (kerala). She is a Syrian Christian by birth She completed her schooling in Mar Thoma Residential School in Tiruvalla. She completed her graduation in Home sciences in Kerala. Malayalam screenwriter Lohithadas gave way to her debut in Malayalam Cinema through the film "Soothradharan" in 2001. but this film was not done well at Box office . But By her performance she got offers in Tamil films. She came to fame in Run(Tamil) Movie. By this she also got offers in telugu films . her debut in telugu movie was in 2004 in "Ammayi Bagundi" with Shivaji. Now she is more busy in her up coming projects in tamil, telugu & Malayalam. She got so many awards with her great performance in tamil & telugu. She done many ads like Chakra gold tea, Close up & mangaldep agarbathi . she busy in opening shopping malls. She offered prayers and bowed to Lord at Raja Rajeshwara temple at Taliparamba in Kerala where the entry of non-Hindus is prohibited. This led to a controversy and sparked off a protest by Hindu devotees. Later, she paid Rs. 10,000 as penalty to the temple authorities.
Meera's Tamil film entry made her a well-known star in the South. The success of Tamil film Run and 'Bala'(2002) have given her the chance to work with popular actors of the Tamil industry. She won the Film fare Best Female debut actress award for Run. The success of the films led her to work with famed directors like Mani Ratnam in Aayitha Ezhuthu and SS Stanley in Mercury Pookkal. Meera has acted in more than ten Tamil films.
